We don't
sleep well in Lat
Krabang, very restless, we often wake up to sounds that we have to get used to again.
So we just get up on time and drink coffee.
We have a few things planned for today.
First of all, pick up a new debit card at the
Kasikorn bank, the old card expired a few months ago.
And also exchange some Dutch money for Thai bath and deposit it into a Thai account.
Then to the Krungthai Bank where Pia's Thai old age
pension is deposited, about Thb 700 per month, we have to make sure that we can use that
bank's app.
And finally buying two Thai sim-cards.
First we go with Moue to the airport, Suvarnabhumi airport because all banks have exchange offices there. We walk past a few banks and compare the rates, and it doesn't matter where we exchange money, they all use the same rates. We change the money at Kasikorn Bank, because the queue is not that long there.
Then we go to Paseo Lat Krabang
Paseo Lat Krabang where there is a regular office of Kasikorn Bank.
This is where we want to deposit the exchanged money and arrange a new card.
The deposit goes quite quickly, after waiting almost half an hour it is Pia's turn and she
deposits the money.
Within ten minutes she receives a message that the money has arrived in the desired account.
The new debit card takes a little longer, this is a different queue and there are many
people earlier.
But after waiting a while and more than fifteen minutes at a counter, Pia has a new working
debit card.
In the meantime, Moue has bought a new sim card for Pia and put it in the phone.
Tom will soon receive another, used, sim card.
Finally we go to the Krungthai Bank where we try to get the app working.
And that almost goes well, until we scan Pia's ID card at a machine and it turns out that
her telephone number is incorrect.
And that is indeed so, she now has a new sim and the bank knows the number of the
previous sim at the beginning of this
year.
To get this right again we have to queue at the bank office, and that queue is very long,
we will do that next time.
We'r going to eat at Kai Yang Khao Suan Kwang in the Paseo. This restaurant has reasonable quality Isaan and Thai food. Then Moue goes home and we go shopping at Villa Market.
In the evening, Naam Waan, a second cousin who is staying for a few days, cooks some tasty dishes.

We tell what we have done and experienced during a trip and we also tell what we think about it; no more and no less.
This is not a travel guide, nor is it advice to visit a place or not.
There are other sites for that.
Our opinion about places where we have eaten, drunk or slept is not intended as a (positive or negative) assessment,
there are other sites for that.
It is our view of the situation at a certain moment and that view is influenced by our mood,
the weather and many other factors.
